Le nomination dei Golden Globe 2018 e le mie considerazioni
O meglio dei film per la televisione e il Cinema usciti nella stagione 2017, secondo la Hollywood Foreign Press Association, cioè la giuria dei novanta giornalisti della stampa estera.
Un premio molto importante che spesso è l’anticamera degli Oscar. Insomma, non sempre le scelte dell’HFPA collimano e coincidono con quelle dei membri degli Academy Award, ma in linea generale rispecchiano sovente i nomi di quelli che poi saranno appunto i protagonisti della grande notte delle stelle. E sono una dunque tappa importantissima e imprescindibile verso la corsa alle statuette.
Ebbene, oggi al Beverly Hilton, sono state annunciate le nomination alle ore statunitensi 5:15 di mattina che da noi corrispondono alle 14 e 14 del primo pomeriggio. A stilare i nomi dei candidati Alfre Woodard, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Bell e la mitica, rediviva Sharon Stone in abito rigorosamente rosso fuoco e capigliatura decisamente eccentrica. Ebbene, quasi tutto secondo i pronostici delle famose predictions apparse negli scorsi giorni sulle riviste cinematografiche più attendibili in materia, cioè Variety e Deadline.
Con però qualche sorpresa e qualche a nostro avviso ingiusta esclusione, le cosiddette snubs, che analizzeremo di seguito.
Dunque, facciamo con calma il punto della situazione. Per prima cosa, siamo estremamente lieti che Chiamami col tuo nome del nostro italianissimo Luca Guadagnino, si sia aggiudicato ben tre candidature in categorie decisamente rilevanti e principali, Miglior Film Drammatico, Attore Protagonista e Attore Non Protagonista. Sinceramente, siamo solo dispiaciuti che, proprio per la categoria Miglior Regista, Guadagnino sia stato “snobbato”. Ci sarebbe davvero piaciuto vederlo competere assieme agli altri prestigiosissimi, grandi registi internazionali. Per quanto riguarda sempre l’Italia, be’, nessuna nomination “diretta” a Paolo Sorrentino per The Young Pope e a Paolo Virzì per The Leisure Seeker, ma possiamo essere comunque soddisfatti che, per i loro rispettivi lavori sopra citati, i protagonisti delle loro lodevoli opere, Jude Law ed Helen Mirren, siano stati candidati come attori.
Il colpo di scena forse più clamoroso è quello delle tre candidature per All the Money in the World, il film travagliato di Ridley Scott che è stato velocissimamente “rimontato” in fretta e furia dopo lo scandalo che ha coinvolto Kevin Spacey che, ricordiamolo, aveva indotto Scott e la produzione a cancellarlo dal film stesso, a sostituirlo con Christopher Plummer a poco più di mese soltanto dalla sua uscita in sala, a rigirare tutte le scene che lo vedevano presente, e che è stato dunque presentato in extremis per la competizione. Nessuno onestamente si sarebbe aspettato che Scott potesse essere nominato come miglior regista, addirittura, e che Plummer sarebbe stato candidato come Miglior Attore non Protagonista, oltre a ottenere anche un’altra nomination come Miglior Attrice per Michelle Williams, categoria in cui dai boomakers non veniva assolutamente prefigurata come possibile candidata.
Dunkirk di Christopher Nolan, come era previsto, “trionfa” a metà. Certo, Nolan e il film ottengono candidature di rilevo assoluto, ma il film viene totalmente ignorato nelle altre categorie principali, contentandosi solo di ricevere una nomination per lo score di Hans Zimmer.
Fra i grandi assenti, anche il completamente dimenticato Detroit. Il film della Bigelow infatti esce immensamente sconfitto dai Golden Globe, nonostante i larghi apprezzamenti della Critica. Probabilmente, era stato presentato troppo presto e i votanti hanno avuto, come spesso capita in certe occasioni, scarsa memoria.
Stesso discorso vale per Hugh Jackman. Viene candidato per The Greatest Showman ma ignorato per la sua stupenda, meritevole interpretazione in Logan.
Ma il più scontento di tutti sarà senz’ombra di dubbio Jake Gyllenhaal. Ancora una volta, dopo essere stato snobbato per Animali notturni dell’anno scorso, incassa consecutivamente un altro perentorio NO per il suo menomato di Stronger. E adesso, in vista di questa sorprendente “eliminazione”, la sua candidatura come miglior interprete maschile agli Oscar, che veniva data quasi per certa, pare davvero improbabile. Ma i suoi fan non devono disperare. Come si dice, la speranza è l’ultima a morire. Come detto, le scelte dell’HFPA spesso rispettano quelle dell’Academy ma sono anche molti i casi in cui un attore, escluso dai Golden Globe, è stato poi “ripescato” agli Oscar.
Fra le altre cose da menzionare, stupisce che la sceneggiatura di Scappa: Get Out non sia stata presa in considerazione, mentre Angelina Jolie può ritenersi davvero soddisfatta. Il suo nuovo film da regista, Per primo hanno ucciso mio padre, ottiene la nomination come Miglior Film Straniero, ed è la seconda volta che accade, era già successo con l’altra sua prova dietro la macchina da presa, Nella terra del sangue e del miele.
Comunque, questa è la lista completa dei candidati, io ho detto la mia, fatevi la vostra idea, scorrendola.
